Testing Nano Emulsions
ACS tests nano emulsion beverages to determine the potency of cannabinoids like THC and CBD. These solutions contain evenly dispersed microparticles that ACS is uniquely qualified to detect.
We ensure your beverage label is accurate & compliant.

02.
Testing Macro Emulsions
ACS also tests CBD potency in macro emulsion beverages. These solutions separate over time and require shaking in order to combine the cannabinoids with the liquids.
Our methods deliver reliable, consistent results.

Safety & Compliance Testing
ACS is an award-winning laboratory for beverage testing proficiency. We are also a DEA-registered (#RA0571996) and ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited facility.
We will ensure your beverage is free from contaminants and legally compliant.

Nano emulsions are the latest innovation in cannabis beverages that utilize “water soluble cannabinoids.” In nano emulsions, THC, CBD and other cannabinoids are broken down to such small sizes that they become emulsified in water and remain intact, without separating. Because of their microscopic particle size and relatively low cannabinoid concentration, nano beverages are the hardest to test. Fortunately, ACS Laboratory is one of only 4 labs in the United States that won the Emerald Test Badge award for testing beverage potency.
How accurate are the results?
First, ACS carefully extracts cannabinoids from the solution. Then we use Liquid Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) to detect trace levels of cannabinoids. LC-MS is the only method to accurately measure beverage potency, yet it’s not the norm in the industry. Many labs are using basic liquid chromatography methods that do not produce reliable results. At ACS, we can test any nano beverage ranging from sodas, alcohols, juices and energy drinks to coffees, teas and coconut waters.

Macro emulsions are the most common cannabis beverages and contain larger particle sizes that separate and sink to the bottom of the solution over time. ACS Laboratory has proven processes and advanced equipment to reliably test cannabinoid potency in all macro emulsion cannabis beverages. Using Liquid Chromatography with Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS), we can test any macro beverage ranging from juices and energy drinks to coffees and teas. In addition to CBD and THC, we test for 18 more cannabinoids, 38 terpenes and 15 flavonoids to accurately profile your products’ potency, flavor, fragrance and potential therapeutic effects.
How accurate are the results?
ACS won more Emerald Test Badges for reliable testing than any other laboratory in the Eastern United States and recently received a beverage testing award in 2019. We provide companies like yours with accurate results in 3-5 days along with a certificate of ingredients from our laboratory.
